Tour Summary:

Explore cosmopolitan cities and dramatic coast lines, unearth the beauty of the Karoo, meet the locals and discover the wonders of South Africa's untamed wilderness with its vast array of wildlife roaming free.

This tour has been carefully crafted for those adventurous people that like to travel in a bit of style. The tour starts in Cape Town, a perfect destination to get your feet settled in Africa. Here we stay in an exclusive luxury house/ guest house overlooking the ocean or Table Mountain or both!  We explore Cape Town and all its wonders, we meet and learn about the local people and their tumultuous history towards equality, we taste some of their unique cuisines and wines and get adventurous hiking up Table Mountain for a magical night on top.

Leaving Cape Town we head onto the famous Route 62 (South Africa's version of USA's route 66) and head up into the mountains to stay a few nights at the quaint township of Montagu, where you can laze your days away in the natural mineral springs. From here we head into the hauntingly stunning Klein Karoo, to Oudtshoorn, which is not only the Ostrich capital of Africa, but is renown for its ecological wonderland both above and below ground. Above ground, this town is surrounded by the spectacular Swartberg and Outentiqua Mountains and below ground, the magnificent Cango Caves will take your breath away.

We continue by heading back down towards the coast and travel along the famous Garden Route to the scenic seaside towns of George and Knysna, where we stay for the next 3 nights in a luxury house on the lagoon. You get  the chance to get up and personal with Africa's largest mammal, the Elephant, then you have time at leisure to explore this beautiful town yourself or you can choose to go on one of the many optional activities on offer.

From here we continue up into one of the stunning Tsitsikamma National Park, where for the thrill seekers, you can zip through the canopy of the forest, and for the more tame at heart, take a guided walk through the forest or coastline, before heading to the "friendly city" of Port Elizabeth. Here we have a close encounter with a cheetah and have a cooking class to learn the local cuisine, before heading 1 hour inland to our final destination, the impressive Addo National Park, home to the largest heard of elephants in South Africa as well as the big 7.
