Tour Summary:

Our tour commences in Baku, created by Oil wealth,  this fascinating city is one of the fastest growing cities in the world, where old meets new in a curious mix of medieval fortresses, graceful Paris-esque mansions  and jaw dropping architectural skyscrapers and a food experience to match.  Located on the stunning Caspian Sea, and surrounded by semi- desert, we discover this cultural oasis and taste its unique offerings. Whilst in Baku, we visit Mystical Ateshgah and Yanar Dag - otherwise know as the fire temples and burning mountain, which is a unique natural phenomenon.

We then head then up into the stunningly wild Caucasus mountains, we explore scenic hilltop villages of Gabala and Sheki, we visit the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage site of Gobustan National Park and the Mud Volcanoes, take in the beauty of  elaborate mosques and palaces and meet the welcoming Azerbaijani people who teach us about their cultures and crafts  and take us on an epicurean journey  that will tantalise your taste buds.

Crossing the boarder into Georgia, long hidden behind the iron Curtain, today has emerged like a butterfly as a welcoming country that exudes a magic that few travelers can resist.  First stop is the Signaghi, known as the city of Love, and considered the prettiest town in the famous Kakheti wine region. Here the wine-making dates back 8000 years and Georgians are still today using traditional methods using large clay pots or Qvevri, to create their unique natural wines, recognized worldwide. We continue into the  fascinating capital city of Tbilisi, which is as old as time, boasting hilltop churches and mountainscapes, meandering cobblestone streets and its famous domed public bathhouses. Yet in recent years has had a revitalization and a whole new 21st-century dimension of inviting cafes and restaurants serving delicious food, funky bars and clubs, spruced-up museums, galleries, parks, plazas, modernised transport and a sprinkling of eye-catching contemporary architecture have popped up. All of which make it a much easier, and fun city to visit and live in than it was less than a decade ago. Here we relax for half a day at one of the famous Abanotubani bathhouses, we visit the ancient capital of Georgia, Mtskheta and take a look around Chateau Mukhrani, home of a Georgian Prince. We finish off the tour for a few days of relaxation at one of Georgia's most popular seaside resort towns, Bukami, on the Black Sea.
